American Heritage Rivers
A community-driven, voluntary program that will give cities and towns the tools they most need to shape and direct their local river restoration efforts.

American River Conservancy
Local organization committed to the protection of the South Fork of the American River through education, stewardship, and conservation.

American Rivers
North America's leading national river-saving organization. Their mission is to preserve and restore America's river systems and to foster a river stewardship ethic.

American Whitewater Affiliation
Mission is to conserve and restore America's whitewater resources and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely.

Clean Water Network
The Clean Water Network is an alliance of over 1000 organizations that endorse their platform paper, the National Agenda for Clean Water.

European Rivers Network
The aim of ERN, is to unite associations and organizations working on rivers and to increase communication between these organizations in order to better preserve the natural rivers in Europe.

Foothill Conservancy
The primary environmental organization working for conservation and restoration of the upper Mokelumne River. They helped open the Middle Bar reach to public access and secured the construction of the boating takeout, played a major role in negotiating the PG&E hydro settlement/new license on the river, are the main advocates for North Fork Mokelumne Wild and Scenic designation, and sponsor the annual Mokelumne River cleanup.

Friends of the River
Friends of the River looks to get beyond the notion of flood "control" and toward a more realistic understanding of rivers and floods.

International Rivers Network
This is a global resource for all people who share their concern for protecting and restoring the world's rivers and ensuring respect for the rights of riverine communities.

The Pacific Rivers Council
Mission is to develop scientific tools, public policies, and community development strategies to restore the ecological integrity and sustainable use of America's river systems.

River Management Society
RMS is a non-profit professional society, dedicated to the protection and management of North America's river resources.

River Network's
Founded in 1988 with the conviction that the solutions to river degradation, like the problems, are primarily local. They must be created by citizen activists, valley by valley and stream by stream.

Rivers 2000
The of Rivers 2000 include having at least 2,000 river or watershed related activities occur during the year 2000.

Sierra Club
A non-profit member-supported, public interest organization that promotes conservation of the natural environment by influencing public policy decisions--legislative, administrative, legal, and electoral.
